Research has revealed Australian children are far more concerned about alcohol and drugs than children from across the globe.
ChildFund Alliance conducted a study recently that surveyed over 6000 children aged 10 to 12, from 58 different countries. The study found that 70% of Australian kids think alcohol and drugs are to blame for the mistreatment of children, a staggering number considering the global figure was just 4%.
“Children are very keen observers and they are acutely aware of risk factors for child abuse,” said ChildFund Australia program support manager Philippa Nicholson.
“That’s something we need to listen to.”
The full findings of the study will be released on Friday.
