Last week GrogWatch reported on the Casula community campaign to oppose the unwelcome imposition of a large late trading pub and pokies in their neighbourhood.
This week we have an update which shows the community campaign has been successful – (for the moment at least).
The applicant has withdrawn the application and it will not be presented to Liverpool City Council for a decision. The applicant has apparently advised though that they may reapply at a future date.
Congratulations to all involved in this community action – it is a significant achievement and provides inspiration to many other communities.
