Principals Australia Institute is pleased to partner with the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Mental Health and Substance Abuse to present the latest research findings on children, teenagers and alcohol.

Professor Maree Teeson and Dr Nicola Newton from the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at the University of New South Wales will speak about:

  • The latest data on alcohol consumption in Australia
  • The effect alcohol is having on Australian students and their ability to learn
  • Evidence-based research on how the internet-based preventive intervention – Climate Schools – has made a difference to young people
  • How schools can take an innovative approach to reducing the negative impact of alcohol

This event is for primary and secondary school leaders and health and community workers.
